Second drawing of my "An Elf For Each Season"-project! And isn't he devine? 
Winter:
The King of Mirkwood is the face of fall, because he himself is in the fall of his reign, as I imagine he has come far from the great king that he once was. I love his serious though wondering expression, because he does not quite comprehend the changes in the world, and even if the age of elves are ending, he will stay and whither, locked within his kingdom.
God, I love Thranduil! He is one of the most intense and interesting characters that Tolkien ever wrote (though I know he was mentioned by name in the book we all know he is the elven king). He and Thorin are the two characters that really fascinates me, because they both have so mixed personalities, and their motivation is so strong yet it tears them in different directions. This is why Thranduil made it to the top 4 of my favorite elves.
Which are the two remaining you think?
Well, my second reason for loving Thrandy is of course his perfect portray by Lee Pace... seriously that man is out of this world, and I again tried to use him as inspiration for this drawing, though I did not use a direct reference, for anything but his lips, because those are hard... And I think he turned out quite nicely! ^^
And I also spent a lot more time on the coloring, especially the forest was very important to make right, because fall is my favorite season and the colors are just so beautiful, I had to convey them perfectly! And the elk/moose I added just for something else to have in the background, im not sure if it looks good or just weird..?
