Cirdan :: Sunrise Sailing

Finally finished this son of a B, after a few weeks of pain, then procrastination, and then more pain this week. All in all, concidering the long and hard road I have walked to get this baby to this point today, I am very happy. I still however am not getting along with water colors. Each day I learn new things, but I have a long way to go to say that I master it. It is fun, it is hard, but it's all worth it in the end.

Any who, this is Cirdan, sailing into the sunrise. No, it is not fire, even as it may look that way. I did say I'm not a master at this right? Well, backgrounds are still the worst, and while I made it work, somehow, I am not entirely happy. I do however hope it doesn't ruin the painting too much.

I have to stress how terribly I hated this painting at a point; i litterally screamed at it, almost tossing it out the window, only the hours and hours I'd already dedicated to it kept me from giving up all together.

I do personally like his hair a lot. I like to give myself challenges with lights, and I do think I managed this quite well. Gray hair is very hard to get right, especially in this mixed lighting. I am also kind of happy about the ocean.
